Come out and enjoy our BBQ Cook-off!
The event is planned for June 5th from 11am to 5pm along the waterfront by the clubhouse.
We are asking several restaurants and individuals to set up tents and give out a sample of their BBQ dish. They can make BBQ sliders, BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken or another BBQ specialty of their choice. There will be two prizes given out. One will be given out by several judges and the other will be a people's choice award.
We will also be selling beer, hotdogs, chips drinks...etc. Any profit that is made will be given to The Little Red Dog foundation. It is an organization that gives special bikes to handicapped children and adults that are not able to ride a bike on their own. Some of them can't even walk. It is a wonderful organization. For more information on the Little Red Dog, please visit their web site
www.littlereddogfoundation.org.
We will also have two water slides for children, activities at the pool and a band, Beek Webb and the Sea Island Ramblers. There will be face painting, clowns, balloons...etc. The event is going to be a lot of fun.
The event is free for children 6 and under. Adults will pay $10.00 for tickets that they can redeem for the BBQ tastings. We are hoping to make this an annual event. This year, we are hoping to have 300 to 400 people come out to Coosaw Point for the event. Next year, we hope it will be bigger.
We have hired my good friend, Malea Everidge, to help us put the event together. Malea has experience in putting on big events like this. We will need volunteers the day of the cook-off, so please let me know if you are interested in participating.
